Southpointe Academy’s Next Chapter

A Capital Campaign

Building The Future

Southpointe Academy is excited to enter its first capital campaign to raise funds for the next chapter of the School — enclosing the fourth-floor terrace to create new spaces that will significantly impact student life and will shape future experiences for the School community. The fundraising for this project will seek our community to invest in the potential of our students with a goal of $1 million+. An important strategic priority for Southpointe, identified in our Strategic Plan 2015-2020, is to enhance our facilities to enhance our excellence of teaching, learning and student achievement. Responding to our community’s aspirations as identified in parent surveys, a feasibility study, and student and teacher feedback, there is a need for a dedicated area for Southpointe’s community to come together as a social hub, for meals, and a flexible space to connect and develop relationships with peers, mentors and teachers. Over the past three years, the Board and Leadership Team have been developing plans to deliver on this promise. Announced in March 2018, this significant project will commence taking our students and educational experiences to the next level.

In the fall of 2019, Southpointe will unveil 8,200 sq ft of new and repurposed spaces including a kitchen/catering area, flexible space for dining, a Graduate Lounge, Junior and Senior School classrooms to accommodate programming including open spaces that may be tailored for future program requirements.

Should you have any questions related to the project, if you are interested in learning about naming opportunities or would like more information about how your family may make a gift, please contact the School’s Advancement office or speak with one of the Capital Campaigns Cabinet members: Shirley Lu, Norman Sung, or Robert Taylor, or David Whyte.
